5/9/22: Olga Perski — Tools and frameworks for solving the ‘engagement crisis’ in e- and mHealth research and practice

Title: Tools and frameworks for solving the ‘engagement crisis’ in e- and mHealth research and practice

Presenter: Dr. Olga Perski

Presented: May 9, 2022

Link: https://youtu.be/MSYeKpRDzMA

About the presentation: This webinar will outline and discuss reasons underpinning the observed ‘engagement crisis’ in e- and mHealth research and practice (e.g., low uptake, involvement and retention) and suggest a few potential tools and frameworks to aid the design of digital health tools that people actually want to use.

About the presenter: Dr. Olga Perski is an interdisciplinary scientist working at the intersection of behavioral science, public health download.pngand technology. She obtained her PhD at University College London (UCL) in 2018, with a thesis on the definition, measurement and promotion of engagement with digital behaviour change interventions. She is currently a Senior Research Fellow in the UCL Tobacco & Alcohol Research Group, where her work is focused on the development, optimisation and evaluation of smoking cessation and alcohol reduction interventions delivered via smartphone apps, chatbots, virtual reality and in hybrid human-digital format. Dr. Perski is an advocate of open science and acts as Co-Director for the international and interdisciplinary Open Digital Health initiative (https://opendigitalhealth.org). She is interested in the real-time measurement and modelling of within-person processes via, for example, Ecological Momentary Assessment and wearable sensors, and associated just-in-time adaptive interventions.
