Dave is a program official at the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health. He manages a portfolio in the clinical research branch focusing on non-pharmacologic approaches to pain management and health services research including implementation science. Prior to joining the NCCIH, Dave worked at the NIDCR, NIDA, the University of Kentucky Center for Drug and Alcohol Research, and the alcohol and drug treatment program at the VA Medical Center San Diego. He received his DrPH with an emphasis on epidemiology from the University of Kentucky and his MPH with an emphasis on health services research from San Diego State University. Part of Dave’s portfolio of grants at the NIDCR includes mHealth applications, maximizing use of electronic health records, and systems science. Within the NIH Dave is an active participant in the following working groups: Science of Behavior Change, mHealth, Dissemination & Implementation Research, Health Economics, and Prevention Research, and Pain Research.
